Data File Repair Tool
If you encounter problems with your Income & Expenses data files, you can download this RepairIE.exe tool to attempt to fix the problem. If RepairIE.exe does not fix your data files, please contact us at support@simplejoe.com.
Download instructions:
- Click on this link: http://www.whyagel.com/downloads/RepairIE.exe
- Save the file to your Income & Expenses folder (usually "C:\Program Files\IncomeExpenses")
- Open Windows Explorer (right-click on "Start" button and select "Explore")
- Navigate to your Income & Expenses folder (where you saved the RepairIE.exe file to)
- Double-click on the RepaireIE.exe file to run it (you may not see the ".exe" portion - look for the green cross to the left of the name).
Update (January 24, 2005):
- Added expense sort order "Date, Paid With, Check #"
- Added Check# column to detail report
- Fixed item calculation error when deleting "For Who"

Example: Download & update Debt Eraser.
1. Click on the link: "Click here to download DebtEraserUpdate.exe - 1.1MB."
2. Select to save the file to your computer's hard drive. Select the C: drive or your Desktop.
3. When the file is downloaded, run the file. Select Start | Run, locate the file and select the "OK" button, or run the file from your Desktop.
4. You will see the following window:
5. If you have installed Debt Eraser to a folder or drive other than the default of "C:\Program Files\DebtEraser" as shown in the window, locate the file usin the "Browse" button. Otherwise select the "Unzip" button to update the software.
6. When the following window appears, the update is complete (the number of files will vary depending on the update), select the "OK" button.
7. Select the "Close" button to exit the update program.
The update is now complete. You can delete the update file (ex. DebtEraserUpdate.exe) if you desire.
